CHARTA Xmas Trees

CHARTA Xmas Trees

Together with the skilled papier-mâché artist Francesco Lippolis and Antonio Rezzi, a research work of applying the use of papier-mâché on contemporary objects of common and decorative use, he produced papier-mâché sculptures that take on the stylized shape of a Christmas tree, with an internal system lighting that shines through thanks to decorative micro-holes on the surface of the trees, all handmade and all different from each other. All made from recycled newspaper, CHARTA trees are born from the dream-idea of extending the life cycle of trees: from trees to paper, from paper to newspapers, from newspapers … to trees again! The CHARTA project aims to bring the “culture of papier-mâché” closer to the “culture of design” by making its values converge, experimenting with art, technique and processing methods, even exploring areas of intervention and social involvement. The CHARTA artifacts are born in the awareness of a desired reintegration of the man-nature balance, a necessary and sustainable goal, even in small gestures, in small things like these papier-mâché objects.
