For a competition of ideas, the project upgrades two squares of a town in southern Italy, activating a program of involvement of private actors together with public authorities.
The town, very famous for its carnival and the parade of sophisticated and large papier-mâché floats, is served by underground car parks that solve the problem of parking spaces throughout the year, as well as during the period of carnival events and events that attract crowds. of many people. Covered by a plate-square, where green planting is increased.
The main square, however, along the perimeter road to the historic center where the passage of the parade of allegorical floats is located, is renovated and redeveloped in order to create the “new village”, a sequence of modern “shops” where to sell and display objects crafts and related to papier-mâché manufacturing, as well as bars and services for the community.
