SERVICED OFFICES in an old “Oil Mill”

The project involved the complete renovation of an ancient oil mill of the late eighteenth century, for the production of olive oil, to be used as modern offices. The completely stone structure, has vaulted rooms of a certain particularity and importance, and in all the spaces there are fireplaces that were also used for the processing of olives; the actual oil mill is a real loft with a barrel vault, on whose side stone walls there were a sequence of niches with millstones. The architectural recovery was very respectful, and the best solutions were designed to allow the introduction of modern technological equipment and contemporary needs for the new use in offices, so as not to be invasive. At the entrance, a real Centenary olive tree has been enhanced, guardian of the memory of the place, through the construction of an overlying transparent roof.
